Limits and Expiration of Eligibility for Georgia Foster Care Scholarship
The Georgia Foster Care Scholarship has limits to how long students can receive a scholarship payment based on the limits listed below.

Expiration of Eligibility
The Expiration of Eligibility is based upon a student's total attempted hours, and/or degrees earned. Georgia Foster Care Scholarship eligibility will expire when any one of the following occurs:
- Attempted Hours Limit 127 semester or 190 quarter hours is reached, regardless of whether or not Georgia Foster Care Scholarship funds were received for all attempted hours.
- Includes all certificate, diploma and degree level credit hours taken after high school graduation
- Earned a baccalaureate (four-year) degree, regardless of whether or not Georgia Foster Care Scholarship funds were received while pursuing the degree.
Age Limit
Students must be less than twenty-six (26) years of age on the first date of the postsecondary term of enrollment, for which funding is sought.
- Students who reach twenty-six (26) years of age during the postsecondary term may complete the term.
Ten Year Eligibility Limit
Students may receive Foster Care Scholarship payment until ten years after the date of their high school graduation, High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma test date, or home study completion date, whichever occurred first.
- Students’ eligibility will expire on June 30th of the tenth year, following the student's high school graduation, High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma test date, or home study completion date.
