Q: How do I create an account on GAfutures?
A: To create an account, click Create an Account at the top of the screen. Select your account profile type and enter the required information. Be sure to read and accept the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
Q: What type of GAfutures account should I create?
A: The type of GAfutures account created will determine what your account will have access to such as submitting applications and viewing your academic eligibility status.
Create a Student account - If you are a current high school student, current college student, prospective college student, or are planning on applying for any of the state financial aid programs.
Create an Education Professional Account – If you are a Georgia high school or college professional, a Georgia district administrator, or a Georgia home study administrator.
Once you have created your Education Professional account, you must contact your Institution or District Administrator to grant access to the professional modules. If you are not sure who your IA or DA is, email TrEx@gsfc.org.
Create a General User Account – If you are a parent or guardian. Note: You will not be able to submit applications for state aid with a General User account. You must create a Student account.
Q: Do I need a social security number to create a GAfutures account?
A: No, a social security number is not required to create a GAfutures account. However, a SSN must be listed on your Profile to view your academic eligibility for HOPE and Zell Miller Scholarship programs, request your high school transcript, or submit applications for state financial aid programs. If you did not include your SSN on your Profile when initially creating your account, you may sign into your existing account, click Profile to update your information anytime.
Q: Do I need to create an account as a parent?
A: Generally, parents do not need to create a GAfutures account.
Parents are only required to create an account if their Georgia home study student is completing the Dual Enrollment Funding Application, and the parent is the Official Home Study Official (HSO) Administrator. Visit the Dual Enrollment page for more resources for Home Study Programs.
Q: What if I forgot my username and/or password?
A: Click the Sign In button at the top of the screen and click either Forgot Username or Forgot Password. Passwords and Usernames can be reset by:
- Answering previously chosen security questions
- Providing a valid email address that is associated with the account
- Contacting GSFC at 1-800-505-GSFC (4732) and press option 1, or click here to submit a Help Ticket
Q: Where can I check my HOPE GPA?
A: To check your calculated HOPE GPA from high school:
Note: Only students who attend an eligible Georgia high school may use this feature.
- Sign in to your GAfutures account.
- Check that your GAfutures Profile has your correct last name, high school, SSN, date of birth and zip code.
- Click My GAfutures Tab, then click the My High School HOPE GPA. Select your high school’s name from the drop-down menu and click Select.
To check your calculated HOPE GPA from college:
- Sign in to your GAfutures account.
- Check that your GAfutures Profile has your correct first and last name, SSN, and date of birth.
- Click My GAfutures Tab, then click the My College HOPE Profile tab.
Q: What are the rigor course requirements?
A: Students graduating from an eligible high school or accredited home study program must earn four (4) full rigor credits, in addition to meeting the calculated HOPE GPA and all other requirements for HOPE or Zell Miller Scholarship. More information, including a list of approved rigor courses, can be found on the Understanding the High School HOPE GPA tab. Please consult your High School counselor for questions regarding if a course meets the rigor requirement.
Q: Why am I receiving an "Invalid data" error message when applying for Dual Enrollment?
A: Your GAfutures Profile is either incomplete or does not match existing data on file. Verify the following information is correct on your Profile: first and last name, date of birth, SSN, zip code and high school. If your information is correct, and you still receive the error, contact us at 1-800-505-GSFC (4732) and select option 1 or click here to submit a Help Ticket.
Q: What classes/courses are available for students participating in Dual Enrollment?
A: Approved courses for Dual Enrollment are listed in the Dual Enrollment Course Directory. Approved classes may include degree level or non-degree level courses in the five main academic areas (English, math, science, social studies and foreign language), as well as career, technical and agricultural education courses.
The courses a student chooses each term must be listed on their Dual Enrollment funding application and must be approved by their high school and the postsecondary institution they will be attending.
